Ferdinand has become a peanut butter, jelly, cheese, meat, chicken, egg and sausage shunner. We are going on a picnic to Battery Park for lunch. We are taking oaty o’s, raisins, strawberries, corn chips, sunflower seeds, chocolate milk boxes, and juice boxes. I am making my own picnic for dinner, and it’s not going to be anything that Ferdinand refused to eat, warmed up for a few hours and then brought back home. I am starting fresh.
Feta cheese, olives, baguette sliced into croutons, toasted, rubbed with a clove of raw garlic, drizzled with olive oil, and sprinkled with salt. Couscous with roasted tomatoes, shallot and fresh mint, and tiny lamb meatballs browned on top of the stove and served with a yogurt sieved of all it’s whey and spiced up with shredded English cucumber, coriander, lemon and salt.
I may not get further than the backyard, but have all the props, so I will be carrying it there in a basket.
Can I join your playdate… it sure sounds delicious.. I’ll bring the watermelon!
